Next Trendy Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier

As much as we'd love it to be the Cavalier King Charles spaniel or the Tibetan terrier-so cute!-the next dog breed is most certainly the Yorkshire terrier, which dog-jumped the German shepherd and the beagle this year to become America's third most popular dog. According to the American Kennel Club, the Yorkie is the fifth most popular dog in Philadelphia. As the Yorkie is only about 1,300 behind nationally, look for it to vault past the second-place golden retriever when this year's statistics are released. And please don't carry it in a purse. The dog may be a little fur ball, but it deserves better.
